The Stone Blue company history starts back in the late 90s, when an upstart industrial denim laundry called Stone Blue launched and proceeded to shake things up in a little town called Los Angeles, California where people thought that they knew a thing or two about jeans. With creativity and a hard-earned reputation for getting things “just right” as keys to success, Stone Blue became known among denim designers and industry insiders as one of the very best denim lab and wash development houses in the world.

After years of working with customers and doing it their way, the people at Stone Blue finally decided that denim needed to be done the right way – the unfiltered, undiluted Stone Blue way – and launched Stone Blue Jeans in 2010 with the mission of creating the greatest jeans on Earth.

Stone Blue Jeans’ two locations in Los Angeles – one a bright, airy showroom featuring sky-high ceilings, yellow brick walls and vintage barnwood flooring in the heart of downtown Los Angeles’ fashion district, the other a gigantic, gritty, no-nonsense industrial manufacturing facility located just a few miles eastward – are perfect examples of what Stone Blue Jeans stands for: Emergence.

These diverse physical environments, together with Stone Blue Jeans’ uniquely talented people and provocative ideas, are just a few of the pieces that go into Stone Blue Jeans’ never ending quest for the emergent quality – that elusive, magical bit that makes the whole greater than the sum of its parts, and that makes a Stone Blue Jean more than just fabric and thread. 2 + 2 = 6. The concept makes mathematicians and scientists uncomfortable to say the least, but it also makes artists, philosophers and denim lovers want to get up and dance.

Stone Blue Jeans does not aspire to be the biggest denim company around; world domination just isn’t our thing. In fact, at Stone Blue Jeans both our goal and our approach to reaching it are refreshingly simple. Stone Blue Jeans wants people to love their jeans and have fun wearing them.
